Children’s and Teen's Physical and Mental Health

Your child’s mental health is not separate from their physical health. We provide functional, naturopathic psychiatric care for children and adolescents struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, PANS/PANDAS, and eating disorders—addressing why symptoms are happening, not just how to manage them.

Through advanced training in functional psychiatry (Psychiatry Redefined), we integrate medical evaluation, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, neuroimmune care, and prescription medications when appropriate to support long-term healing.

A Different Kind of Psych Care

Functional psychiatry looks at the whole child. We explore how the brain is influenced by:

  • Nutrition and micronutrient status
  • Gut–brain and microbiome health
  • Immune system activation and inflammation
  • Sleep, stress, and nervous system regulation
  • Developmental stage and hormonal shifts
  • Environmental and infectious triggers

Treatment plans are individualized, evidence-informed, and designed to support both mentalnhealth and overall development.

Conditions We Treat

  • ADHD
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depression and mood concerns
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • PANS / PANDAS
  • Eating disorders
  • Complex or treatment-resistant psychiatric symptoms

Care is tailored for both children and teens, with family involvement as appropriate.

Who We Work With

This practice may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to understand the medical drivers behind symptoms
  • Are seeking alternatives or complements to standard psychiatry
  • Have a child with complex or inflammatory-based mental health concerns
  • Value personalized, whole-child care

If your child is struggling with ADHD, anxiety, mood concerns, OCD, PANS/PANDAS, or eating challenges, functional psychiatry may offer answers where traditional approaches have
fallen short.

Schedule a consultation to explore a personalized path forward.

Our children with complex neurodevelopmental challenges are not failing treatment; the treatments are failing to meet their biology.

We can do better. It is our responsibility to walk that bridge with them.

Yes. As a licensed naturopathic physician with prescription rights, I can prescribe psychiatric medications when clinically appropriate. Medications are used thoughtfully, often alongside functional and lifestyle-based interventions.

No. This is medical psychiatric care, not talk therapy. Many children benefit most when functional psychiatry is combined with therapy such as CBT, ERP, family therapy, or trauma- informed counseling. I frequently collaborate with therapists as part of a team-based approach.

I work with both children and adolescents, tailoring evaluations and treatments to developmental stage, family dynamics, and school demands.

Appointments are longer and more in-depth. We explore:

  • Medical history beyond mental health symptoms
  • Nutrition, sleep, stress, and lifestyle
  • Gut-brain and immune connections
  • Nutrient deficiencies and inflammation
  • Infection or autoimmune contributors when relevant

The goal is understanding and healing, not just symptom suppression.

The practice is private pay, but services may be eligible for reimbursement through extended insurance plans, depending on your coverage. Superbills are provided.

When clinically appropriate, testing may include:

  • Nutrient and metabolic labs
  • Inflammatory or immune markers
  • Gut health assessments
  • Infection-related testing (especially for PANS/PANDAS)

Testing is always discussed in advance and individualized.
